The political situation in our country troubles me. I allege that the Republican Party is dead set on destroying our democracy. Their latest actions have convinced me that they would welcome a fascist proletariat form of government with Donald Trump as designated dictator. They have seated a newly elected representative from Georgia who has denounced recent school catastrophes as being false. She has embraced QAnon theories that are off the wall. My god where do you get these people? One of their leaders has embraced our former president in hopes of getting voters to vote for Republican candidates in an election two years from now. They are going to make sure the former president is acquitted of his involvement in the January 6 coup on our Capitol. They do not want to make him accountable for any of his actions be it false voter information or inciting a riot. I am 81 years old so what happens now will not affect me as much as the generations behind me. The effect could be substantial as to who gets to live in this country.
